How the girls fell asleep last night...

Yep, they fell asleep reading books. When I walked into the library and found them like this, I think my heart skipped a beat. I couldn't have been more happy, especially since I had no idea what they were up to. I had been in the other room doing some dishes and cleaning up the kitchen after I got home from the youth fireside, and afterwards I was going to go tuck the girls into their beds. I love that my children love books, and I also love the fact that I have a library that they can fall asleep in.

A couple of years ago, I watched a movie about President Hinckley when he was growing up. One of the things that he had in his home was a library where his mother would read to him. Ever since I heard that, I decided that a library was something I wanted in my next house. So when we moved here we chose to make our front living room, our library. It has been wonderful!!! We use that front room as our room for reading to our girls, rocking our baby, having family home evening, home teaching, visiting teaching, family scripture reading, etc. It has become my very favorite room in our house. It is a room without electronics. No phones, computers, or tvs. It is just full of books, chairs, sofa, family pics, piano, and pictures that remind us that our family is forever.

A room that has become the heart of our home.

I love the idea of a library like that. I've always wanted one. My house isn't quite big enough, but I do have a little reading nook and I love seeing my girls utilize it!

What a great room! That is such a good idea to have a room in your house that is a place to "get away" from the busy nature of life.
