Guess what???

We're moving.

Last week Cory had a meeting with the vice president over leasing in his company. They offered him a job to be a leasing manager over 3 malls. We will be moving to Tennessee. I am really excited about the promotion, but I am also going through all of the emotions that come with moving from a place where you have really settled in.

I can still remember how hard it was to move from Fayetteville to Asheville because we LOVED our ward there and we had such great friends, but we adapted to our new home in the mountains and I have really come to love it here. I am really going to miss so many things...good friends, wonderful neighbors, the beauty of the mountains, the young women and the women whom I serve with, our Bishop, Katelund's school, friends of the girls, etc.. But above all, I am really having a hard time with leaving Clairisa. I couldn't even imagine how hard it must have been for the pioneers who had to bury their babies in unmarked graves and then walk a way knowing that they would never go back again. At least I know where her grave is, but still...
It will be hard to leave but also exciting to meet new people and have new adventures. I just have to keep singing in my mind, "I'll go where you want me to go dear Lord, I'll be who you want me to be." I know that this is where the Lord wanted us to be and that he will once again lead and direct us to where our new home will be. So, here we go. Let the moving process begin again.

Melissa, my heart is already missing our little Clairisa (or should I say, Clairlisa?) I am grateful for your insight about the pioneers. I too, know this is what the Lord would have you do, but it is not to say that I haven't already shed a few tears at the thought of your family moving farther away from us. I am ever grateful for the time we had together.

This brought tears to my eyes. I've been thinking of you so much lately. That would be so hard.
As always you are an inspiration of faith. I'm so grateful to know you and I will totally miss you!
It sounds like a great opportunity for your family! How soon do you have to leave? We better fit in at least one more girls night before you go.
Your blog looks so cute!

Although this change will be so difficult, I am SO grateful that you have friends already waiting to receive you with open arms. What a grand blessing.

A special friend can help you celebrate Clairisa's most memorable days by taking flowers to her on your behalf. I'm sorry she cannot be with you ... until later.

Thank you for sharing your faith and testimony..

Congratulations to Cory. I got my hopes up thinking it was going to say you were moving back to Fayetteville! I can understand that leaving your baby would be hard. But, maybe a new place will be good. Congratulations again.

Great news for your family! I know Cory will be even more fulfilled in what he does to provide for your family, and you are the amazing wife and mother that will make the transition smooth for all. I understand your feelings about moving....the stress, the nervousness about ward and friends, etc...but I will pray for your family. Know that Clairisa is always near you, wherever you are....as near as your Father in Heaven. Love you!

Sometimes I think moving is exciting. You get to meet even more people that will influence your lives, as you influence theirs. At the same time, it is hard, especially with Clairisa, but just like Mandy said, she is always near you and protecting your family as your sweet little angel. I'm excited for you & your family. Good luck with the move & getting things arranged. love ya!

What??? No way! I mean, I am happy for your new adventure, but so sad at the same time! I feel like we are just getting to "really" know eachother (maybe a little "too" much..hehe!), but seriously, you will be so missed!! My heart goes out to you about having to leave Clairisa. She will always be with you though. I love you! When are you leaving?

I am so happy to hear about your move. Just as you have found great friends there you will also find good friends in Tennessee. I am sure Cory will be much happier at his new job, that is all I could think of when I left and moved here is that Irwin will be happy with his job and he is he loves it:)

Congratulations to Cory on his promotion! It's great that he is having such success in his career. That must be hard having to move so frequently, but because of that you've been able to touch many many lives.

Congrats on Cory's promotion!! Wow such a change-good and bad. Good luck with all the planning and packing! How soon do you move?

Mel,

I'm really happy for you! I hate that it won't be as close to my parents so I can see both of you in one trip. That part is stupid. lol.

I know that the Lord knows your concerns, especially with Clairisa. What a wonderful blessing a testimony of the Plan of Salvation is, at least the pioneers had that. I can't imagine what those that don't have that knowledge do when they're faced with those crossroads. I'm proud of you for being so brave!!

Melissa,

take is from someone who has moved countless times.....you will have amazing experiences in Tennessee, and wherever else you go. You will make friends that are just as true and wonderful as the ones you've made in NC. The Lord has plans for you, you must be needed in Tennessee. Moving is such an adventure! Chris and I are going to be in Virginia until retirement, and although I love Virginia and all that it entails, I'm sad at the thought that I won't be moving anymore. I guess after being a military brat and then a military wife for such a long time, putting down "roots" is hard. Where in Tennessee will you be? It is beautiful there as well (I grew up in Indiana, and spent a lot of time in TN)....the Smokies are gorgeous, and there is so much to do in Memphis and Nashville. I know you'll miss being close to Clairisa's grave, but you will only be a state away, so that's good. I'm sure your friends in Asheville will be glad to have you down for a weekend while you visit. ;)
